I am a witch. A human but half-vampire one, grand-daughter of Dracula, with the ability to choose between human / vampire / dhampir forms and to turn into a werewolf. I am also a great scientist. I mess with a time-machine once, my old TARDIS (stand for Time And Relative Dimensions in SHADOW - The "Shadow" being the designation for whole dimensions / worlds / planets / multiverses unification in the Amberite language), and now I have an almost immortal daughter as young as me...

And this is how my grand-daughter try to convince me to take her with me in a dimensional travel. I refused but she never gave up. Some day before, it was my young brother who accidentally found the machine and became obsessed with it. He asked me for a trip through the Hypertime, dreaming of parallel worlds. Once again I said "no", even if looking at him remembered me of myself, when I was a child... Dreaming of being a great sorceress.

The two of them just could not stop. They really wanted to go, no matter how dangerous it could be. I told them what happened to me, I told them they could be killed, raped, enslaved. But they did not care. For them, I was here to protect them. Nothing will ever happen to us, and we will see thousands of wonders.

 

« - I'll do whatever you want! »

 

I sighed. Then I gave up. First, I briefed them about a lot of stuff. Time paradox, time loops, altered timelines, crossovers, concept of the Hypertime... All of this things that you do not want to mess with. I warned them that EVERYTHING could happen. Things that can be beautiful or funny, but mostly horrifying and painful. Then I put my conditions:

 

#1 - We are watchers. We do not interfer, whatever happens.

 

#2 - You do as I say and you never disobey me.

 

And for #3, I used the "do whatever I want" promise they made: I ask my brother to become my servant. He will wear the clothes I want for him, clean up the TARDIS and do every others tasks I will demand. He grited his teeth and agreed. For my gorgeous grand-daughter, I only required that she always wear a belly dance costume that will show off her belly and her cute tiny navel. She will dance for us every nights and become my tickle slave. She blushed but she accepted the deal.

 

And we were ready. We boarded the TARDIS, I took the control and the adventure has begun...

 

 

 

 

First things first. I have not used this dimensional machine in a long time and I need some practice. To test my skills as a pilot and to initiate my two companions, I go for something basic. Something informative about the possibilities of the time and dimensional concepts.

 

This wrestler-like guy who looks like an evil Santo is Bane, a dangerous criminal known to have broken Batman's spine. Here we have his "classic" version from Earth-0 / New Earth, the core existence of the DC Multiverse. A regular human with a massive body using a drug called Venom to enhance his physical strength.

 

 

Like I said, this is a "Multiverse" (multiple universes), with many "elseworlds" were everything is different. For instance, this is the Bane from another world. He was a serial killer who became the test subject of a mad scientist in order to create a living weapon enhanced by toxin-derived chemicals. This version of Bane is completely untintelligent and cannot even speak.

 

Another elsworld, another Bane. This one is a very big red-skinned monster, in fact an assassin for hired using drugs to mutate and kill.

 

This is the most recent version of Bane that I could find in the DC Multiverse. Basically, he is the same one from New Earth but the Joker made him much more bigger by injected him more drugs.

 

 

And this is Bane Simpson, AKA Nuke, a terrorist working for the Hydra organization. This is a "fusion" character from the Amalgam Universe, result of the merging of two people from two multiverses: Bane (from DC) and Nuke (from Marvel).

As we can see, every Bane are the same in essence and share physical similarities, minor some alteration. This is the most common thing you can witness when visiting an infinity of parallel worlds... A fusion alter-ego however, is far more rare and does not appear frequently.

A mix between Venom and Carnage (Venage / Carnom)

The Amalgam Universe, a fusion universe from both the DC and the Marvel multiverses, is the most well-known case but others combinations can be found, such as Dark Kahn.

Darkseid & Shao Kahn

Dark Kahn is the improbable fusion of Darkseid, from the DC Multiverse, and Shao Kahn, Emperor of Outworld, from the Mortal Kombat Multiverse. The amalgam happened when they were both defeated at the same time in their separate worlds, fleeing through a dimensional portal. They merged together and try to do the same with the two universes...

This fusion was clearly an anomalie which was corrected, both Darkseid and Shao Kahn returning to themselves. This Dark Kahn character will probably never appear again.

 

Of course the subject of the multiple yourself cannot be complete without mentionning the Doppelgänger, that is the evil version of a living person. Just like the old legend of the bad twin, the Doppelgänger is a look-alike who want to destroy the life of his double.

Here we can see the beautiful (extreme) Ghostbuster Kylie Griffin fighting with a sexy version of herself. This scene is the perfect representation of the Doppelgänger. It is also pretty kinky thing to see, so I decided to stay a little longer.

And because I have a crush for cute and sexy goth girls, I could not help but to find even sexyer versions of her. We spend a very hot night together...

Anyway! To conclude this little exercice, I looked into only ONE universe (Earth-616) to find the different versions of the same character. As a living force of nature, his true form cannot be perceived by mosts beings and each species perceives him in a form they can comprehend - often similar to that of their own. He his one of the most powerful cosmic being of the Marvel Universe: Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds.

And this is the two "human" perception of Galactus, from two different Earth.

 

Is called crossover the meeting of two or more characters from different universes. It is a frequent fact in the dimensional exploration and the possibilities are infinite. It is one of my favourite concept and I am amazed to see what we can come up with. Like the JLA and the Looney Tunes! (no kidding, but I save it for later)

This one is a classic. The confrontation between the Doctor Doom (from Marvel) and the Sith Lord Darth Vader (from the Star Wars Multiverse). Two powerful fighters from the Dark Side. "Witch one will win?", "Witch one is the best?" are the questions you will always hear in these moments (and by the way, I think Doom is superior in one way: he his a true conqueror were Vader is just a puppet to the Emperor. Nuff said). It is a fact that almost every strong characters will fight each over when meeting...

But crossovers are not always about fighting. And believe me, if there are some "Freddy vs. Jason" or "Alien vs. Predator" clashes, there is a LOT of incredible love stories going on. And when I say incredible, well believe me! You have NO idea!

See what I mean ? Cap and Disney's Ariel. Together. Really. And do not ask how a human and a mermaid can make love. I know the answer but I will NOT give it to you! (yes I have lesbian sex with mermaids sometimes. So what?)

Without all these extreme situations, a crossover can be a simple fact of life, either serious or funny.

IV. Timelines

A timeline is the representation of the arrangement of events in their order of occurence in time. It is the History. Mostly due to time paradox, the chronology can be destroyed or altered, making a complete change in the sequence of events to come. As a result, the old timeline is erased in aid of a new one. The "ancient world" is not necessarily lost however and can still be found as a parallel universe.

Take the case of Spider-Man's daughter for example. In the mainstream universe (the "official" timeline), Peter and Mary-Jane Parker had lost their baby. In a alternate / parallel universe however, the child is born as May Parker who grew up as a beautiful young woman and became Spider-Girl.

 

But back in the mainstream universe, what if Peter and MJ have another child, another girl who will live on ? The timeline being altered, this girl can be another May as well as a completely different person.

All right. That was some basic knowledges. It is now time for us to explore more of the times and dimensions. It has been a while since I traveled at random through the multiverses. Let's see what I missed!
